I got the idea for an automated money gun when I purchased one as a birthday gift. I then researched how I could connect it to an Arduino.
Once I had the motor from the money gun connected to the Arduino, I thought about how I would power it from my wall. The image shows a method I tried where I powered it with AA batteries.
After programming the Arduino, I connected it to my Amazon Alexa account and added the music.
My first step in setting up automated blinds was connecting the motor to the piece that needed rotating on the blinds. So I 3d printed a connection piece that fit between them.
Next, I had to code the motor to spin the exact number of times to fully open and close my blinds
Finally i connected the arduino to my Amazon alexa to get the final result.
I have a big monitor at the end of my desk, which blocks my main window, so I devised a system to lower the monitor. I first bought a linear actuator and connected it to an Arduino with 12-volt power.
I then timed the amount of time it took for the actuator to extend and coded it into the Arduino and connected that Arduino to my Alexa.
Finally, I attached the monitor to my system by screwing it directly into the monitor stand.
The gate to my driveway already had an intigrated app but it was not compatible with amazon alexa. So instead I connected a servo to a wireless gate opener.
I then connected the arduino to a servo and coded it to have the servo click the button and connected the code to my amazon alexa.
To automate the disco ball, I connected the Arduino to a continuous servo, which could endlessly spin when I turned it on. I connected the servo to an Arduino Uno, which had a 5V output, and connected it to an Arduino MKR, which has wifi control. So i could wirelessly signal the wifi arduino to trigger the arduino uno to spin the servo.
I then used a spotlight to shine on the disco ball and turn it on with a Wi-Fi-connected outlet to get the final result.
